Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Sunderland

Location: Sunderland

Pay: £90–£110 per day

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a nurturing, values-led school environment.

This role suits someone who understands that progress looks different for every child and that small wins deserve big recognition. You’ll help pupils access learning in ways that work for them, emotionally, socially and academically.

The role involves:

  • 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour positively
  • Supporting communication and social interaction
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans
  • Being a consistent, trusted adult in the school day

Ideal experience (not essential):

  • SEN support, care work, youth work or similar
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
