Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: Sunderland
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are recruiting a Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional needs working towards GCSEs.

This role focuses on helping pupils access the curriculum, stay engaged and build confidence in a structured secondary environment.

You will work closely with subject teachers to support learning and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND in subject lessons
  • Providing targeted learning support
  • Supporting organisation and engagement
  • Helping manage emotional and behavioural needs
  • Encouraging positive learning habits

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting secondary-aged pupils
  • Is confident supporting learning in a classroom setting
  • Understands the challenges of SEND at secondary level
  • Is patient and encouraging

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
