Leader Education is currently recruiting a HLTA to work within a SEND Secondary School.

The school serves approximately 200 young people aged 11 to 19 with a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and an increasing number of pupils with Autism.

The school is well‑equipped with outstanding facilities such as a therapy pool and sensory room. It is also supported by a dedicated team of staff who are committed to enriching the lives of the children.

The normal working pattern is Monday–Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long‑term position based on a successful trial day.

The successful candidate will
  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • HLTA qualification
  • Previous experience working with SEND or vulnerable individuals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
  • Work with pupils on both a 1 : 1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
