As a Student Support Officer
, you will work closely with pupils, pastoral teams, and teaching staff to provide structured support that helps students remain engaged with education.

Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Student Support Officer to work with pupils who require additional pastoral, behavioural, or attendance-related support. This Student Support Officer role plays an important part in supporting student engagement throughout the school day.

• Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, or wellbeing needs
• Working with pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis
• Monitoring engagement and reporting concerns to pastoral staff
• Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times

• Experience in a school, youth, or pastoral setting is preferred but not essential
• An interest in student support and secondary education
• Ability to work within school policies and procedures

This Student Support Officer role provides valuable experience for individuals interested in pastoral or education-based careers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
