Are you a calm, supportive, and resilient professional with a passion for helping young people thrive? Our welcoming SEND school in Sunderland is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join the team after half term.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural, and social support. You will help them develop positive routines, manage challenges, and build confidence in a structured and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small‑group behaviour support
Implement behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
Support emotional regulation and promote a safe, inclusive environment

Requirements

Relevant experience supporting young people with behavioural needs
Strong communication, empathy, and resilience
Ability to remain calm and supportive under pressure
Experience in a SEND or alternative provision setting is highly desirable
A proactive, team‑focused approach
