Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives
If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.
In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling-up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.
Please note eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider, they do not apply to every vacancy.

How will this person be a Change maker?
You will raise expectations for students with additional needs and ensure support leads to independence, achievement, and progression. You will strengthen links between Inclusive Learning and curriculum areas, improve the quality of EHCP reviews, and use data to show the impact of support on retention and success. Your leadership will shape a consistent, high standard of inclusive practice across the college.
Aboutthe Role
As Inclusive Practice Coordinator, you will lead a team of Learning Mentors to deliver high quality, person centred support for students with learning difficulties, disabilities, and high needs. You will support EHCP reviews, and the effective deployment of staff to meet identified needs.
This is a permanent full time role based at Sunderland College. You will work closely with the Head of Inclusive Practice to strengthen inclusive systems and processes across the campus.
This role offers the opportunity to lead service improvement, influence college wide practice, and develop staff through coaching and training. You will gain experience in high needs funding, statutory processes, and data systems such as Prosolution and Promonitor, while building leadership capability within a large further education setting.
