We are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Sunderland to recruit an SEMH Teacher for a full‑time position starting in September.

The school caters for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs alongside Autism and associated learning difficulties. Staff work collaboratively to provide a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering creative and personalised lessons
  • Supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies consistently
  • Working alongside wider pastoral and clinical teams
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews and progress monitoring
Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching within SEN or SEMH settings preferred
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to engage hard‑to‑reach learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Interviews are taking place shortly, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
