Contract and Working Pattern

Fixed Term for 1 year, commencing September 2026 - Working Pattern: M-F, 8:30am-4:00pm. 35 hours per week.
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work across the school, supporting children with additional needs (small group interventions, etc).
Grangetown is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming primary school. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a September start.
The post is designed to boost the support we provide for children who need to ‘catch up’ with aspects of their learning. This will include disadvantaged children and children with additional needs. This will involve a range of interventions, carried out with small groups of children, to support basic skills including reading, writing and maths.

Responsibilities- Have the knowledge and skills to work effectively with children who struggle with aspects of their learning.
- Be proficient in supporting aspects of teaching and learning, under the direction of classroom teachers and the SENDCO.
- Have high expectations for all children, and the ability to motivate children.
- Be a caring person who wants the very best for all children.
- Be a team player but also able to work independently when required.
- Be an effective communicator, willing to participate fully in the life of the school.
