Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme, a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high‑need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling‑up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.

About the Role

This role involves delivering high‑quality teaching in Brickwork, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring outstanding learner experiences. You will have opportunities for professional growth, access to new teaching technologies, and the chance to lead exciting projects within the department.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Brickwork lessons to a range of learners.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials to meet industry standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in practical sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and resources.
  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications and career goals.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 (or higher) Brickwork qualification.
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Proven industry experience in Brickwork.
  • Ability to deliver practical and theoretical lessons effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies in Brickwork.
