Pay: Up to £23,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Hours: 08:30 am to 4:30 pm - Monday-Friday
Contract: Full Time - Term Time Only

Role Purpose

Hendon Prep is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school. This is a varied and rewarding role working with children from Preschool through to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Support pupils within lessons to access learning and make progress
  • Reinforce teaching delivered by the class teacher
  • Promote pupils' confidence, independence and positive attitudes to learning
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt provision as required
  • Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment
The Successful Candidate will bring:
Qualifications
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics — essential
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification — desirable
  • SEND‑related training — desirable
Experience
  • Experience of working with primary‑aged children (EYFS and/or KS1/KS2) — essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND — desirable
  • Experience in a school or educational setting (mainstream or specialist) — desirable
Knowledge and Skills
  • Sound understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs
  • Ability to promote independence and engagement in learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
