Nurture Teacher – Sunderland
We are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient Nurture Teacher to support secondary-aged pupils in Sunderland who are below expected levels.
Role OverviewFull‑time position, Monday to Friday. Working hours 8:30am‑4:30pm (early finish on Fridays 8:30am‑3:30pm). Long‑term placement. Teaching secondary‑aged students with additional learning and emotional needs. Delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning levels. Supporting pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation.
Responsibilities- Deliver curriculum‑aligned lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support pupils’ engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Maintain a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
- Experience working within SEN, nurture groups, alternative provision or behavioural settings desirable.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
- Ability to differentiate learning for students working below age‑related expectations.
