Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you're making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly "levelling-up premium") payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.

Please note eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider, they do not apply to every vacancy.

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging sessions, ensuring curriculum relevance and alignment with the awarding body and college policies.
  • Develop learning resources, plan engaging lessons and maintain accurate student records and assessment documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate programme delivery, ensuring courses are well organised, compliant and responsive to student and industry needs.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance and wellbeing, providing guidance, feedback and appropriate support where required.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, employers and external partners to enhance the student experience and industry engagement.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment activities, quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
  • Lead on quality assurance and compliance for your study programmes.
Qualifications

Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification

A minimum of 2 years of working within the sector.

Level 5 teaching qualification is desirable and candidates will need to commit to
