Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives
If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.
In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling-up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.

To support the ongoing curriculum development and academic excellence, we are seeking to appoint a Learning Practitioner in Uniformed Public Services, who can teach to the industry standards and demonstrate innovative and outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices. We are looking for someone who has the enthusiasm, motivation and ambition to drive our teaching and learning within the curriculum area.
Role Responsibilities
- Planning and preparation of high-quality, sequenced learning through career-focused schemes of learning, session planning and resources.
- Assist with the creation of high-quality digital learning platforms and resources developing the digital literacy and future-readiness of students.
- To provide an excellent experience to students through exemplary learning, teaching and standards of assessment.
- To uphold Uniformed Public Services sector standards and expectations, working with other teams when and where necessary to support on wider development.
- Teach students to high standards using appropriate and varied student-centred approaches, embracing learning technologies to enhance the student experience.
- Carry out assessment providing constructive feedback to support improvement and raise aspiration.
- Participate in the College`s quality assurance, quality enhancement and quality improvement processes.
