We are currently recruiting a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to support EPNE on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join a successful construction department and support learners studying vocational trade qualifications within a Further Education environment.
The RoleAs a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Carpentry & Joinery programmes, helping learners develop the practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for a successful career within the construction industry.
- Delivering Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery qualifications
- Planning, preparing, and assessing learning in line with curriculum requirements
- Teaching both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory lessons
- Supporting learners with target setting, progress reviews, and achievement of qualifications
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records
- Promoting safe working practices and industry standards within workshop environments
- Supporting learners to develop employability and trade-specific skills
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and professional standards within the classroom
- A Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery
- Previous experience teaching Carpentry & Joinery within a Further Education setting
- Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
Experience delivering practical workshop-based training - Knowledge of current industry standards and working practices
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
