We joined a new partnership in Northumbrian Water’s new Living Water Enterprise, an innovative vehicle developed to deliver large scale construction programmes in AMP8 and beyond, supporting a £3.6bn workload.

Northumbrian Water supplies water and sewerage services to just under 4.4 million people and has worked closely with MMB and JN Bentley since 2001. In this time, the companies have delivered hundreds of engineering and construction projects together. This new contract will extend the relationship to at least 2030 and see MMB – which harnesses the contracting strength of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott Mac Donald – undertake treatment projects across the North East.

As a Site Agent, you’ll be integral to our operational team, contributing to every phase from tendering and design to construction, commissioning, and handover. You’ll lead projects that enhance our environment and communities – from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature‑based solutions that improve biodiversity.

• Working collaboratively with the design and commercial teams to enhance delivery efficiency and promote opportunities while managing risk
• Managing the site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the quality required by the client
• Involvement with site level procurement, subcontractor logistics and H&S reporting
• Informing the client about project progress and addressing any concerns
• Acting as a Temporary Works Coordinator, overseeing the installation of temporary works to ensure compliance with design specifications

• CSCS, SSSTS/ SMSTS
• HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Understand civil engineering principles and practices
• Excellent organisation and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
