· Office-based, 5 days per week Fryer Miles are delighted to be partnering with a well-established global business operating across food, beverage, and energy supply chains in the search for a VAT Accountant to support the clearance of a backlog of historic VAT returns across multiple European jurisdictions. This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role where you'll work closely with European VAT fiscal advisers and an in-house finance team to progress filings within a tight timeframe.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and submitting VAT returns across multiple European jurisdictions Working through historic VAT data methodically and accurately Reconciling VAT balance sheet accounts and preparing supporting journals Liaising with external fiscal advisers to ensure timely and compliant submissions Flagging any discrepancies or issues to the in-house finance team We're keen to speak with candidates who:
Have practical experience preparing VAT returns (European exposure desirable) Are comfortable working through process-driven, detail-focused compliance tasks Can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time Are available immediately for a short-term, office-based assignment Have experience with Sun Systems (a bonus, not essential) This is a great opportunity for an early-to-mid level VAT accountant seeking a well-supported contract role with clear objectives and immediate start.
