Finance Assistant

KCR Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a growing business in Sunderland for a Junior Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in finance. You will be supported by an experienced finance team and gain hands‑on exposure to day‑to‑day financial operations.

• Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations
• Supporting payment runs and liaising with suppliers on queries
• Maintaining the cashbook, including daily bank postings and reconciliations
• Assisting with allocating incoming payments
• Supporting month‑end processes
• Filing and maintaining financial records
• General finance administration and ad hoc duties as required

• Keen interest in finance or accounting
• Strong attention to detail and good level of numeracy
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel (basic level acceptable)
• Organised and able to manage workload effectively
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills

• Finance & Accounting degree (or similar) – preferred
• AAT studying or keen to start
• Previous office or admin experience
• Some practical experience with invoicing processes (e.g. processing invoices, matching, or exposure during placement or part‑time role)
• Exposure to finance tasks (placement, internship, or part‑time work)

• Full training and development within finance
• Study support (AAT) – if applicable
