Assistant Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a sizeable finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of financial accounting, management accounting, reporting and business partnering activities. Working within a complex and fast-paced environment, you will support senior finance colleagues in delivering high-quality financial services and helping stakeholders make informed financial decisions.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
Preparing reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning activities
Producing accurate financial reports and management information
Analysing complex financial data and providing meaningful insights
Supporting audit requirements and ensuring compliance with financial procedures
Maintaining financial records, controls and reporting schedules
Liaising with both finance and non-finance stakeholders to resolve queries
Supporting the development and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
Providing guidance and support to junior team members where required About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

AAT Level 4 qualification, part-qualified accountant status, or equivalent finance experience
Previous experience working within an accounting or finance environment
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data

Experience of reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential What you'll get in return
