Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting a large, established organisation with the recruitment of an Assistant Finance Officer / Trainee Accountant to join its growing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a complex and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of financial reporting, reconciliations, budget monitoring and financial administration, while working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The Role Reporting into a senior member of the finance team, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the production of financial reports and management information.
Assisting with account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
Processing and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions.
Providing financial and administrative support across the wider finance function.
Assisting with budget monitoring and variance analysis.
Producing and maintaining spreadsheets and financial data reports.
Supporting month-end processes and financial control activities.
Responding to finance-related queries from a range of stakeholders.
Assisting with audit requirements and compliance activities.
Contributing to process improvements and maintaining robust financial procedures. About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

Previous experience working within a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or transactional finance environment.
Good knowledge of reconciliations, financial systems and accounting processes.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
AAT Level 3 qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential. What's on Offer?
