We are looking for a highly motivated experienced receptionist/administrator to join our team. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and experience in a general practice environment is preferred.
The post is a permanent full time position, salary depends on experience.
Communicating effectively with patients via the phone and face to face, usingcarenavigation principles.
Comprehensive IT skills in order to operate EMIS, booking appointments, sending tasks, managing prescription request, adding patient communication etc.
Confidentiality and data protection.
Ability to adapt to change, patients needs and NHS and Practice expectations.

Job responsibilitiesAnswer,screen and transfer inbound phone calls using care navigation
Receive and direct visitors and patients
Assist in reception duties, both face to face and over the telephone.
Take and process requests for appointments, repeat prescriptions, patient registrations etc Facilitate communications between the Practice, its patients and the Extended primary Care Teams.
Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
Create and manage electronic tasks appropriately
Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
Handle requests for information and data Adhere to data protection and confidentiality
Attend relevant courses, meetings or education events in order to carry outduties effectively and efficiently
Comply with Health and Safety procedures
Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the GP, Practice Manageror Assistant Practice Manager.
Act in ways that recognise the importance of people's rights, interpreting themin a way that is consistent with procedures
Respect the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients and carers

Person Specification Qualifications- GCSE grade A to C, or equivalent in English and Maths
