We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people with and administrative background to support our All Age Continuing Care Service. These roles are key to delivering our statutory responsibilities for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Funded Nursing Care (FNC).

Main duties of the job
  • Provide line management to our Business Support Assistants
  • Provide administrative support for CHC/FNC referrals and processes
  • Communicate with patients, families, and external partners (by phone and face-to-face)
  • Handle enquiries and direct them appropriately
  • Maintain accurate records and provide cross-cover across admin functions as needed
Working for our organisation

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a busy, supportive team environment
  • Previous admin experience (CHC/FNC knowledge is a bonus but not essential)
Qualifications
  • RSA/NVQ level 3 or equivalent relevant experience
  • Significant business support level experience and acquired knowledge of relevant process or procedures.
  • Significant experience of providing project/business level support
  • Demonstrable level of experience of Microsoft Office package including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and One Note.
  • Project based software packages.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Microsoft Project
Physical Skills
  • Advanced keyboard skills.
  • Ability to Independently travel as required to meet the requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
  • Identify significant experience of using MS Office packages to ensure efficient and effective business support.
  • Previous experience of supervising / managing staff.
