We are currently recruiting Pharmacy Dispenser and welcome applications on a full and part time basis. You will join our rotational team largely in Sunderland Royal Hospital but be able to work across our three Pharmacies across STSFT and support our service level agreement with our partner organisation CHoICE Ltd. Our In-patient pharmacy supplies medicines towards and departments across our various sites as well as supporting the Integrated Medicine Management team of technicians and pharmacists to deliver pharmaceutical care to patients admitted to the in-patient wards.
Good customer service skills are essential as well as the need to care about the patients we serve and the services we deliver and we expect candidates to take pride in the delivery of a safe and responsive dispensing service. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high quality patient care whilst working with an excellent and patient-centred team.
Candidates should have achieved NVQ LEVEL 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy services and you would be expected to undertake an accredited checking course after 6 months in post. You will be required to work in both in-patient and out-patient pharmacies across sites and our partner organisation Choice Ltd. As part of the dispensary team you will be involved in the dispensing process for both adult and paediatric patients across attending our hospital.
You would be expected to be part of 7-day service including late night, weekend and bank holiday rotas. You should be adaptable, methodical and have excellent communication and time keeping skills. You must be able to work well within the team and also have the ability to work on your own initiative to deliver excellent patient care. We work in conjunction with the pharmacy education team and we assist with training of new staff which you would be expected to undertake as part of your role.
