I’m working with a company in the utilities and energy sector that is responsible for providing services to the majority of northern England. This is a hands‑on cyber security role focused on vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response, with growing exposure to cloud security. Ideal for professionals looking to build deep vulnerability expertise and progress into Cloud Security.

• Identify, prioritise, and manage security vulnerabilities and threats
• Monitor security alerts, logs, and SIEM outputs
• Support incident response and breach investigations
• Track remediation and work with engineering teams to reduce risk
• Perform security reviews of systems and technology changes
• Contribute to security hardening, compliance, and policy updates
• Support cloud and infrastructure security improvements
• Run security awareness and phishing simulations

• Vulnerability management and threat analysis
• SIEM / security monitoring
• Incident response
• Network security fundamentals (TCP/IP)
• Endpoint security (EDR/AV)
• Active Directory
• Windows security

• Cloud security (AWS or similar)
• Linux
• Patch management (Intune/SCCM)
• Security certification (e.g., SSCP)

• Hands‑on exposure to cloud and hybrid environments
• Opportunity to work on cloud security controls, risk management, and secure architecture
• Real‑world experience securing AWS / cloud‑based infrastructure
• Develop skills in cloud threat detection, identity security, and vulnerability management
• Work alongside infrastructure and cloud engineers on security‑by‑design initiatives
