Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and organisational support to the Taylor Wimpey legal team, working across disputes, commercial transactions, operational matters, compliance and data protection. This role will be critical in ensuring the smooth running of legal processes, supporting the group legal team to maintain high standards of compliance and service delivery.

There is scope in this role to gain some degree of experience of legal issues by directly supporting and liaising with colleagues across Taylor Wimpey on more routine legal issues under supervision from the legal team and using our in-house templates and guidance. This should be seen as a potential opportunity for an interested candidate, rather than a requirement of the role.

Primary Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Prepare, format, and file legal documents (e.g., contracts, dispute correspondence, compliance reports, data protection notices) and critical monthly reports.
  • Maintain and organise legal files, ensuring records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Liaise with our external panel law firms to ensure that our online legal portal is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Support key projects by helping the legal team and other stakeholders track performance and key milestones, collating important documentation and following up on outstanding actions.
  • Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments for the legal team and key external stakeholders.
  • Assist with legal research and collate information for case preparation.
  • Support the legal team in reviewing and identifying demands and other legal documentation which we receive to ensure they are allocated to the correct businesses for action.
  • Support the team in managing dispute matters, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all relevant documentation is filed and accessible.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties regarding dispute resolution procedures and help identify and update internal advice notices.

Commercial & Operations:

  • Assist with the administration of commercial contracts and operational legal matters.
  • Track contract milestones, renewal dates, and compliance requirements.
  • Support our Framework Agreement contracting process.

Compliance & Data Protection:

  • Support the data protection team in maintaining compliance with GDPR and UK Data Protection Act requirements.
  • Help prepare and file compliance documentation and data protection notices.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
  • Previous experience in a legal or compliance administrative role (ideally within property, construction, or commercial law).
  • Experience of disputes or contentious work is preferable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (365, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word) and legal management software.
  • Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and data protection principles is preferable.
  • Ability to work in a time‑critical environment and manage multiple priorities.
