Salary
: £15,428.44 (annual)
We are looking for a committed and proactive individual to join our Caretaking team in the role of part‑time Caretaker for a period of 12 months
. This position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness, safety and functionality of our high‑rise residential buildings across Sunderland.
Working Hours
: 22 hours per week – Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri at the following pattern (some flexibility can be discussed):
- Mon: 08:00 – 16:30
- Tues, Wed: 08:00 – 13:00
- Fri: 08:00 – 12:00
Traveling between locations within Sunderland is required; a driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
Your Responsibilities- Thorough cleaning of internal and external communal spaces.
- Safe removal of bulky waste and furniture from shared areas.
- Ensure buildings are secure, safe and fully operational at all times.
- Report faults or repairs and keep accurate records.
- Assist with deliveries and collections as required.
- Collaborate with Neighbourhood Coordinators to deliver a customer‑focused service.
- Use cleaning materials responsibly in line with COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Participate in training, ensure compliance with security protocols and raise any well‑being concerns appropriately.
- Support access for contractors and external partners when needed.
- A full UK driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrable experience in cleaning, including the use of cleaning equipment, in either commercial or residential areas.
- Manual handling competency.
- Developed communication and customer care skills.
- Some knowledge and skills with IT systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Knowledge of current COSHH regulations.
This role will require a basic DBS check, which will be arranged and funded by Gentoo.
