Salary
: £15,428.44 (annual)

We are looking for a committed and proactive individual to join our Caretaking team in the role of part‑time Caretaker for a period of 12 months
. This position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness, safety and functionality of our high‑rise residential buildings across Sunderland.

Working Hours
: 22 hours per week – Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri at the following pattern (some flexibility can be discussed):

• Mon: 08:00 – 16:30
• Tues, Wed: 08:00 – 13:00
• Fri: 08:00 – 12:00

Traveling between locations within Sunderland is required; a driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.

• Thorough cleaning of internal and external communal spaces.
• Safe removal of bulky waste and furniture from shared areas.
• Ensure buildings are secure, safe and fully operational at all times.
• Report faults or repairs and keep accurate records.
• Assist with deliveries and collections as required.
• Collaborate with Neighbourhood Coordinators to deliver a customer‑focused service.
• Use cleaning materials responsibly in line with COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Participate in training, ensure compliance with security protocols and raise any well‑being concerns appropriately.
• Support access for contractors and external partners when needed.

• A full UK driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrable experience in cleaning, including the use of cleaning equipment, in either commercial or residential areas.
• Manual handling competency.
• Developed communication and customer care skills.
• Some knowledge and skills with IT systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Knowledge of current COSHH regulations.

This role will require a basic DBS check, which will be arranged and funded by Gentoo.
