The contract for this post can be offered at 37.5 hours per week. There is potential to earn more, with enhancements offered for weekend work and on-call duties, this can be up to £2.5K more - give us a call to find out more!

Main duties of the job

You will be required undertake planned preventative and reactive building maintenance duties. As well as minor and major refurbishment works, plus manufacturing as required across all Trust properties of the CNTW Group and other areas of responsibility.

Person Specification Experience
  • The post holder will have experience in service, maintenance, and repair of a range of building installations and equipment
Skills and Knowledge
  • The post holder must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces according to specifications
  • Perform repairs or modifications on existing wooden structures as needed
  • Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for woodworking
  • Strong knowledge of joinery techniques and woodworking principles
  • Skilled in painting or finishing wood surfaces
  • Undertake frequent and occasionally strenuous activities such as lifting of doors, windows, movement of plant and materials, and manual digging
  • Must demonstrate good understanding of health & safety
  • Experience and understanding of other trade specialisms
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as well as at height and in other challenging environments
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to justify decisions and responsibility for actions
Education and Qualifications
  • The post holder must have completed a recognised and registered indentured apprenticeship, with a City and Guilds Carpentry and Joinery certificate/ NVQ level 2/ level 3 or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent to include Maths and English
