Hours:
39.5 hours per week
Working Pattern:
Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: £27,626 per annum plus benefits
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Facilities Maintenance Operative to join our friendly and supportive Facilities Team. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation, maintenance, and presentation of a busy multi-building business centre environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming site for customers, visitors, and colleagues. You will also provide support across other centres as required, helping to ensure consistently high standards across all locations.
Health and Safety is a priority within this role, and you will be expected to follow all procedures and contribute to ongoing compliance and site safety activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks across the site
* Undertake basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and repair work
* Complete painting, decorating, and general site improvement projects
* Set up meeting rooms, event spaces, and move furniture as required
* Support waste management and recycling processes
* Monitor contractors working on site and report any issues or concerns
* Assist with incoming and outgoing mail handling
* Provide reception support and customer assistance when needed
* Conduct routine site inspections and report maintenance requirements
* Support other centres and provide cover when operationally required
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a practical and reliable individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to take on a variety of maintenance and facilities-related tasks.
You will have:

* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping
* The flexibility to travel between sites and support multiple centres when required
Essential Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Ability to respond to occasional out-of-hours emergency callouts
* Experience carrying out general maintenance, facilities, or building upkeep tasks
* Understanding of safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements
