Cleaning Operative - Academy of light

Immediate Start | 40 Hours Per Week | £12.71 Per Hour

Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including flexibility to work weekends and event days as required.

Pre-employment Requirement: Successful applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Reporting to a Cleaning Supervisor and working as part of a team, this role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout designated areas of the stadium. The role involves carrying out a variety of cleaning duties to ensure the venue is clean, safe and presentable for guests, staff and clients.

• Carry out a range of cleaning tasks, including picking up rubbish, toilet cleaning, detail cleaning, window cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, stripping and resealing floors, emptying bins, high-level dusting, seat cleaning, washing metal staircases, removing chewing gum and sanitising ablution facilities.

• Operate handheld cleaning equipment and machinery, including vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, blowers and buffing machines, to complete allocated cleaning tasks.

• Use chemical cleaning solvents and consumables safely and as instructed.

• Clean machinery after use and ensure all equipment is stored safely.

• Carry out any reasonable cleaning requests made by the client.

• Report all cleaning and maintenance issues to the Area Supervisor as soon as possible.

• Report any suspicious behaviour or potential security risks to the Area Supervisor promptly.

• Ensure all equipment is used and maintained correctly, reporting any faults immediately.

• Follow safe working practices in accordance with company policies and site regulations.

• Maintain effective communication with the Cleaning Supervisor and client.

• Attend and actively participate in meetings before, during and after events, as required.

• Attend and complete all required training, appraisals and development programmes as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.

• Maintain a guest-focused approach and develop a good knowledge of the stadium's facilities and services.

• Adhere to all site safety regulations, the company Code of Conduct, dress and behaviour standards, and company policies.

• Arrive on time for all rostered shifts and demonstrate flexibility to work the required hours.

• Keep the Cleaning Supervisor informed of work availability, where applicable.

• Complete daily cleaning check sheets accurately and as required.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from the Cleaning Supervisor.

• A reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

• Willingness to work across a variety of stadium areas and undertake different cleaning duties.

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.

• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and clients.

• Basic English communication skills are preferable to support understanding of instructions and effective communication in the workplace.

• Willingness to complete a DBS check as part of the pre-employment process.
