Senior Shift Manager
Salary: £63,600 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Shift Manager with a strong strategic mindset to join a high-volume, precision manufacturing organisation.

The Role:
You will lead and manage a shift within the Press Shop, with full operational and strategic accountability for performance. This role goes beyond day-to-day delivery; you will play a key part in translating site strategy into effective shift-level execution, driving sustainable improvements and building capability across your teams.

You ll be responsible for achieving key operational KPIs while thinking strategically about resource planning, people development, and continuous improvement, ensuring the Press Shop supports wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead press shop operations with a strategic focus, delivering against quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale targets.

• Own shift performance and contribute to medium- and long-term operational planning.

• Develop supervisors and operators through coaching, mentoring, and structured performance management, building future leadership capability.

• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence using QCDMS principles, with a focus on sustainable, data-led improvement.

• Ensure effective shift planning, manpower optimisation, and compliance with safety, HR, and company standards.

• Work cross-functionally to deliver departmental goals and broader site strategy, proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities.

About You:

• Qualified to Level 5 (or equivalent) in Operations Management or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in a supervisory or frontline management role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically while leading operational execution.

• Strong understanding of QCDMS, continuous improvement methodologies, and KPI-driven performance management.

• Confident, credible leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
