Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £47,225 (inclusive of 22% shift allowance). Locations:
Washington. Shift Pattern: 3 Shift Pattern.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to fulfil a permanent position in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment. The role requires someone who can work well under pressure and use initiative to maintain and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Skills & Requirements
  • Time served – Full Apprenticeship (Dual Trade)
  • Experience in a high-demand manufacturing industry
  • Strong fault diagnostics and fault-finding skills for machinery
  • PPM exposure, strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience with PLCs
  • Experience with circuits and diagrams
Responsibilities
  • Effectively maintain a varied range of equipment, ensuring an acceptable level of health and safety
  • Root cause diagnosis of all breakdowns and faults to prevent reoccurrences
  • React to all breakdowns and requested tasks in a timely manner, completing relevant paperwork and ensuring the maintenance of all records
  • Liaise with other departments and support project development
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment performance with the aim of implementing process improvements
  • Support in‑depth analysis of failure modes using suitable diagnostic tools
  • Develop, implement and review Total Preventive Maintenance routines and ensure adherence to schedule once implemented
