CNC Machinist
Salary: £39,000-£40,000 |

Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, we are looking to recruit skilled CNC Machinists with either Turning or Milling experience to join our established manufacturing team in Washington.

The RoleThis is a CNC Setter/Operator position focused on setting, operating and proving out existing CNC programmes. You will be responsible for producing precision‑engineered components to tight tolerances, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency are maintained.
Please note that this is not a CNC programming role. However, candidates with programming knowledge or experience will be at an advantage.
Key Responsibilities- Setting and operating CNC Turning or CNC Milling machines
- Proving out and running existing CNC programmes
- Making minor programme edits, tooling changes and offset adjustments where required
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
- Conducting in‑process inspections using a range of measuring equipment
- Ensuring products meet customer and quality standards
- Maintaining machine performance and reporting any issues
- Working safely and efficiently within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC Turning or CNC Milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment
- Experience proving out and running existing CNC programmes
Ability to make minor programme edits and tooling offset adjustments - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexible approach to working a rotating shift pattern
- Good problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Experience using Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
- Programming knowledge or previous CNC programming experience
- Experience across both Turning and Milling disciplines
- Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification
- Competitive salary of £38,000-£40,000
