La Clinica de Familia (LCDF) is a federally qualified health center that has served Southern New Mexico for over 40 years. Our mission is to empower families, individuals, and communities by providing quality medical, dental, behavioral health, and educational services for all cultures.

The Dental Assistant performs semi‑technical dental and routine clerical work. The assistant assists the dentist during examination and treatment; cleans, sterilizes, and arranges instruments; and assists with X‑rays. The role is supervised by the dentist and follows standard procedures and instructions to promote community health and social services.

• Bilingual English / Spanish
• Knowledge of key dental procedures such as sterilization, X‑ray techniques, and accurate posting of patient treatments
• Knowledge of dental instruments and their use
• Knowledge of OSHA administration as it pertains to dental practices
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• High degree of organization and attention to detail
• Self‑initiative and adaptability with ability to take direction

• High School Diploma plus six months experience in a dental office and completion of a dental assisting training course
• Certification as a Dental Assistant in New Mexico;
  New Mexico radiology certification
• Current New Mexico X‑ray certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment
• Pass a criminal background check; maintain a current driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
