Accounts Payable Professional

Colleen McAuliffe at Robert Half is looking for an Accounts Payable Professional to join a fast-growing semiconductor company in California. In this role, you will support the full accounts payable cycle across multiple business entities while helping maintain accurate financial records and timely vendor payments. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting specialist who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and contributing to ongoing process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage high-volume invoice processing for multiple entities, ensuring proper coding, required approvals, and accurate two-way and three-way match validation.
• Contribute to month-end close by preparing payables accruals, reviewing post-period invoices, and reconciling unpaid balances.
• Research billing issues and payment exceptions by partnering with vendors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders to reach timely resolution.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and clear aged or outstanding items through statement reviews, receipt follow-up, and account maintenance activities.
• Evaluate invoices for correct sales and use tax handling and identify transactions that require tax accruals.
• Track open purchase orders and work with purchasing partners to close orders that are completed, inactive, or no longer needed.
• Assemble accounts payable records and related backup documentation to support internal reviews and external audit requests.
• Prepare schedules and supporting data needed for annual 1099 reporting and related compliance activities.
• Assist with enhancements to accounts payable workflows, including automation efforts and finance system implementation support as needed.
