Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Charcoalblue! We are looking for an Assistant Experience Consultant to join our growing Charcoalblue Experience (CBX) team based on the West Coast of the US.
Team OverviewCharcoalblue Experience (CBX) is a dedicated business unit within the Charcoalblue group that applies our expertise gained from working with globally renowned cultural organisations to the workplace, sports, exhibition, and events markets. Working with world‑leading companies, Charcoalblue Experience works with any business looking to create spaces for collaboration and storytelling that want to deliver an enhanced experience for staff, visitors, guests, and spectators.
Projects include hybrid workplaces, one‑off event spaces, sports facilities, broadcast studios, conference centres, and ecosystems across entire buildings and campuses. Our CBX team includes specialist Project Managers, Design Managers, Research & Development (R&D) Consultants, Technical Drawing and Standards Consultants, Producers, and Administrators, and they often work closely with single clients and are fully embedded into their workflow and teams.
The Assistant Experience Consultant supports the design and delivery of Charcoalblue’s Design & Experience Strategy projects, with an initial focus on providing assistance for projects related to event, executive briefing, activations, and collaboration spaces. Working closely with our team of Consultants across our various disciplines (design management, experience design, project management), you will receive direct exposure to capital projects and structured training to develop expertise in event and experience consulting and design management.
This role supports both design management and creative consultancy teams working on large scale capital projects, assisting with client‑facing tasks and project documentation. You will assist in understanding client vision and translating it into an actionable brief, and support project delivery to ensure the client brief is met. You will produce clear documentation, presentations, and graphics to illustrate design considerations such as user journeys, creative visioning, master planning, adjacencies, operational needs, and guest experience.
The Assistant Experience Consultant will benefit from the support and training offered by our in‑house consultant and business support teams. The ideal individual for this role is a multi‑faced problem solver with a willingness to develop their expertise in event spaces and/or guest experiences, and the ability to help guide initiative delivery. You must also be a clear communicator, action‑oriented, self‑motivated, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Candidates must be able to attend daily meetings during Pacific Time hours and be available for regular travel to client offices in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. The ideal candidate is located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or elsewhere on the West Coast of the United States.
