Overview

We have a new contract opportunity with Intuitive Surgical for a Component Engineer 2 role in Sunnyvale, CA.

Location: 950 Kifer Rd, Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: 10/06/2025 – 09/26/2026 (12 months)

Pay Rate: Up to $50/hr (W2)

Work Setup: First 6 months onsite (5 days/week), then 4 days/week onsite based on performance

As a Component Engineer, you will play a key role in part qualification, supplier collaboration, and root cause analysis for purchased components. This role involves working closely with suppliers to ensure component quality, process capability, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

• Execute and complete part qualification deliverables (FAIR, Inspection Plan, Capacity Study, pFMEA, Control Plan, Gage R&R, Process Capability, Validation).
• Investigate, analyze, and close non-conformances for purchased components.
• Partner with suppliers to improve quality, process capability, and capacity.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for supplier processes and inspection methods.

• 2–5 years in Supplier Engineering or Quality Engineering (medical device or capital equipment preferred).
• BS in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Knowledge of process capability, pFMEA, GD&T, machining, and molding processes.
• Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, vision systems, CMMs).
• Experience with Microsoft Office, PLM (Agile), ERP (SAP).
• Strong problem-solving curiosity and communication skills.
