Job Description

This manager position has responsibility for efficient implementation of engineering change orders (ECO) and factory moves with respect to supply chain and inventory related performance. Work scope includes oversight of supply‑chain processes and tools to evaluate the impact(s) of engineering change orders, line moves, and plant expansions that can include lead time changes, supplier delivery quota changes, inventory cut‑over/transition plans (including rework, use‑up and scrap actions), required material set‑up and planning attribute changes in SAP, and alignment of demand schedules and impact to inventory stocking locations.

The role collaborates with Purchasing, Sourcing, Scheduling, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Finance, and Warehouse to develop scalable business processes, standards and deliver beneficial performance improvements across Operations.

Additional Areas Of Responsibility Include

  • Develops and utilizes reporting tools to intelligently identify engineering change orders, line moves and plant expansions that impact component material supply for both Sustaining and NPI managed products.
  • Utilizes and refines existing metrics suite to provide an overall view of engineering change orders and production line readiness where supply chain action/response plans are required as well as provide a summary status of execution progress toward identified action plans.
  • Influences and provides input to material planning and inventory management policies based on practical experience with processing engineering change orders and production location changes.
  • Develops performance reports to communicate impact(s) resulting from engineering change orders and production line changes to inform leadership level of stakeholder functions. Examples include purchase price variances, rework or scrap costs, cost avoidance, inventory coverage/run‑out, supplier spend/quota impacts, change order processing volumes and backlog, etc.
  • Responsible for the evaluation and reduction of unactionable MRP generated exception messages related to engineering change order processing. Drives rates of improvement for MRP accuracy and actionability in conjunction with enterprise level goals.

Essential Job Duties

  • Actively assesses the population of engineering change orders which have material change impacts and production line changes.
