Position: Test Engineer III (AR/VR Lab)

Our client is looking for a Test Engineer. This role involves operating a premier laboratory in the field, generating crucial data for next-generation systems, and collaborating with leading experts. You will manage the most technologically advanced laboratory and serve as the principal data provider for the most complex wearables systems.

This is a hands‑on, lab‑focused role responsible for operating a high‑end depth‑sensing laboratory, executing test plans, and generating high‑quality data for advanced hardware systems.

Must have

Skills:
  • Programming
    :
    Demonstrated proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Solid Works
    :
    Practical experience in designing parts for 3D printing and machining.
  • Laboratory Work
    :
    Direct experience in device control, tooling development, experiment execution, and statistical data analysis.
Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience with Computer Vision tools.
  • Familiarity with Camera systems.
  • Knowledge of Lidar mapping systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Executing comprehensive test plans utilizing robotic test automation for wearable components (including projectors, cameras, sensors, and optics).
  • Operate and maintain a 3D depth‑sensing characterization lab.
  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze experimental data.
  • Design and develop custom parts, fixtures, and test setups.
  • Build and refine tooling to support experimental workflows.
  • Use statistical methods and tools to derive insights from collected data.
  • Use CAD tools for designing lab setups and custom parts.
  • Write scripts and code (Python, C++, etc.) to automate data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams and communicate findings clearly.
Education:

Degree in Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred; equivalent experience accepted).
