We are seeking an HR professional with a passion for hospitality and food‑and‑beverage operations. The HR Specialist will recommend, develop, and administer human resources policies covering recruitment, separation, employee relations, disability and leave management, benefits, classification, compensation, performance management, training, and project management. This is a fully on‑site role supporting a sizeable corporate dining operation.
Key Responsibilities- Administer policies and programs in recruitment, separation, employee relations, disability and leave management, benefits, classification, compensation, performance management, training, and other HR areas.
- Manage, develop, and evaluate staff recruitment and separations, including mass hires.
- Prepare and process all necessary hiring paperwork promptly. Create job postings, review applications, interview candidates, and recommend suitable hires.
- Coach and counsel department managers and supervisors on employee relations policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist employees in resolving sensitive or difficult work‑related problems.
- Apply HR concepts when counseling employees on moderate‑scope work issues.
- Serve as the leave‑of‑absence administrator to ensure compliance with all policies and guidelines.
- Conduct new‑employee orientations.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on job description development, benefits communications, compensation programs, personnel policies, and procedures.
- Counsel supervisors and managers on performance management, including annual reviews, and develop the evaluation process.
- Handle sensitive, confidential information and interact collaboratively with client groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; HR hospitality industry experience preferred.
- PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
- Three or more years of human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of HR policies, employment practices, salary administration, training, and related HR areas.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle difficult or volatile situations effectively.
- Skill in prioritizing tasks, political acumen, and making sound decisions.
- Active listening and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and complex problem solving.
- Discretion with sensitive personnel issues.
