Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III

What you’ll do

• Develop and execute Disaster Recovery Plans for storages for JIRA and Confluence applications.
• Build and maintain code in Github and CI/CD pipelines to deploy applications to Azure from the Development to Staging to Production Systems using Looper, Concord, and Proximity.
• Migrate applications from On-Prem to Azure Cloud to minimize the costs and manage infrastructure.
• Decommission Linux and Windows Servers that are no longer being used.
• Implement complex SQL queries to populate custom field values.
• Install and renew certificates for JIRA and Confluence.
• Work with AzCopy and Rsync Utility to copy data from the Common Internet File System (CIFS) to a storage account and copy data to, from, and between storage accounts.
• Help with version upgrades and patching for applications like JIRA and Confluence.
• Research, install, validate, and upgrade JIRA and Confluence third-party plugins.
• Perform rolling restarts, re-indexing, and clearing of Plugin Caches of JIRA and Confluence apps.
• Set up Azure infrastructure in One Ops to run Java based applications.
• Run basic functionality checks to make sure REST API calls work smoothly on JIRA before allowing developers to consume JIRA data.
• Develop integrated test scenarios and data and execute test scenarios as part of system upgrade testing.
• Design Issue Collectors using Java script to integrate fields on third party websites to help customers submit data forms.
• Monitor and evaluate JIRA performance using Splunk Logs and Dynatrace.
• Set up Prometheus Alerts and MMS Dashboards for custom applications and database servers.
• Prepare new environments in One Ops Cloud for PHP and JAVA upgrades of applications.
• Install the latest SQL drivers and dependent components.
• Migrate JIRA Software Projects from one instance to another instance.
• Work with the Information Security (Info Sec) Team to get approvals.
• Perform cross functionality testing of applications before and after in-production upgrade.
• Assist L1 and L2 Teams to troubleshoot and resolve JIRA and Confluence related support tickets to optimize productivity.
• Triage and troubleshoot production issues for JIRA and Confluence and track problem tickets and incidents.
• Perform site reliability, including incident remediation, root cause analysis, and problem management, for all production issues for Jira and Confluence, including infrastructure issues as well as application issues.
• Implement integrations between Jira and Confluence and other third party applications.
• Participate in on-call rotation for all incidents related to Jira and Confluence.
• Implement and administer Jira schemes and configurations.
• Train individuals and teams on how to use JIRA and Confluence to increase user adoption.

This position does not supervise employees.

Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related area; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related area and 2 years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering.

• Experience managing and administering Windows 2012 R2/2019 Servers, CentOS Linux Server, and Azure SQL.
• Experience implementing database queries for reporting using SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Application Server Architecture Bash and Shell Scripting.
• Experience implementing automation scripts using Groovy and Python.
• Experience implementing field behavior using JavaScript, JAVA REST API, and SQL.
• Experience monitoring and evaluating system performance using Dynatrace, Splunk, Java Melody, and Nagios/Prometheus.
• Experience managing Storage Accounts using Azure Storage Explorer.
• Experience managing certificates using Venafi.
• Experience with Cloud Management Platforms:
  One Ops and Azure.
• Experience updating code using Git Hub.
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) tools:
  Jenkins and Concord.
• Experience managing and maintaining the infrastructure for Jira and Confluence.
