Senior Cold Fusion Developer

Key Responsibilities

Application Design & Development

• Expert CFML Coding:
  Design, develop, test, and maintain complex server-side web applications using CFML (Cold Fusion Markup Language), including Components (CFCs), custom tags, and functions.
• Architecture & Best Practices:
  Act as a technical authority, applying Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and modern MVC (Model-View-Controller) frameworks (e.g., Cold Box, FW/1, or CFWheels) to build scalable and maintainable applications.
• Full-Stack Development:
  Work across the entire application stack, from database schema design and complex SQL queries to backend logic and front-end integration.
• API & Integration:
  Design and implement RESTful APIs and SOAP web services to allow the Cold Fusion backend to communicate effectively with modern front-end frameworks (like React, Vue.js, or Angular) and third-party systems.

Modernization & Optimization

• Legacy Refactoring:
  Lead efforts to modernize and refactor existing legacy Cold Fusion applications, identifying deprecated code, addressing technical debt, and ensuring compatibility with the latest Cold Fusion versions (e.g., Cold Fusion 2023/2025 or Lucee).
• Performance Tuning:
  Profile, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks in Cold Fusion applications, databases, and JVM settings to ensure high performance and low latency.
• Security Implementation:
  Enforce industry-standard security best practices (e.g., OWASP) by implementing measures against common vulnerabilities like SQL Injection ($ ext{cfqueryparam}$) and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentorship:
  Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers on CFML best practices, coding standards, and application architecture.
• Code Review:
  Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and optimization for performance and security.
• Dev Ops and CI/CD:
  Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Git/Git Hub, Jenkins, or Cloud Build, often utilizing Docker and containerization for consistent deployment.
• Troubleshooting:
  Serve as the final escalation point for complex production issues and performance problems.

Technical Requirements

• Expert in Cold Fusion (Adobe or Lucee), CFML Script, CFCs, and advanced language features.
• Deep experience with at least one CFML MVC framework
• Mastery of SQL, including stored procedures, query optimization, and schema design for databases like MS SQL Server or Oracle.
• Expertise with Git for version control, experience with containerization (Docker), and test frameworks

Non-Technical Requirements

• This is not work from home. Must work from our Bhilai CG office
• Experience:
  
  Typically 5+ years of professional experience in Cold Fusion development, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Problem-Solving:
  Exceptional analytical and debugging skills for complex enterprise systems, often involving large, mission-critical legacy codebases.

Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
