Door Dash is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong platform mindset to lead the Financial Data Platform team. The team’s mission is to build foundational systems that collect raw financial data from all Door Dash companies, and process it into a unified, integrated “single source of truth” data model. These systems sit at the intersection of all teams that are serving our three-sided marketplace (Consumers, Merchants, Dashers).

Key functions of this team include data ingestion and integration (SDKs and services to ingest data from all Door Dash products and services), data quality and governance (ensuring complete, timely, accurate data with tools to validate, standardize, and remediate errors while maintaining immutability), and data storage (reliable storage with appropriate data controls).

As the Engineering Manager for the Financial Data Platform team, you will lead a talented team focused on building and scaling big data systems and platform services that process billions of events per month. You will partner with PMs, data engineers, and senior leadership to define and execute a strategic roadmap that balances scalable platform development with cutting‑edge tools. You will lead a team of software engineers to deliver scalable, reliable systems that enable product and technology innovations.

• Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and full stack engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions
• Be the technologist and system thinker who connects technology and business opportunities through tech innovation
• Collaborate with product managers, business leaders, and stakeholders to determine the team’s roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap
• Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 8+
• Encourage innovation, teamwork, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies
• Oversee the hiring process for your team in partnership with recruiting to grow a diverse and inclusive team
• Drive key business metrics

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend & web) of 8+ engineers
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Customer-centric mindset and ability to apply it to building platform services
• Strong product sense and collaboration with cross-functional peers
• Experience with distributed system design, scaling, and performance optimization
• AI fluency and ability to apply AI to financial data platform use cases
• Humility and openness to feedback

The starting pay will fall within the range shown below and is determined by factors including skills, experience, location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized by location. Range: $193,800—$285,000 USD. In addition, there are opportunities for equity grants. Paid time off details: salaried roles have flexible PTO plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year; hourly roles have prorated vacation and sick time accruals described in the policy.
