Job Description:

The QC Microbiologist is responsible for performing routine microbiological testing in a pharmaceutical Quality Control (QC) laboratory. The role includes testing of environmental samples, purified water, and raw material/finished product (RM/FP) microbial limit testing in accordance with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and company SOPs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in microbiology, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform environmental monitoring of controlled areas, including surface and air sampling.
• Conduct microbiological testing of purified water systems and utilities.
• Perform microbial limit testing on raw materials and finished products according to USP methodologies.
• Prepare, handle, and maintain microbial cultures and media.
• Document all laboratory activities in accordance with GMP requirements and internal procedures.
• Assist in investigations of microbiological out-of-specification (OOS) results and deviations.
• Support laboratory equipment qualification, calibration, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of all data and tests performed.
• Participate in audits and inspections as required.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, and all relevant regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in a QC laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and GMP regulations.
• Familiarity with USP methods and guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
