- 2 years previous experience of retail safety & security (loss prevention/asset protection).
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and local legislation and requirements regarding safety, security and risk in a retail environment.
- Knowledge and experience with safety committees, auditing, and incident report writing.
- Candidates in Oregon, New York, and St. Louis, MO, must be eligible to obtain a security guard license as required by applicable local law. Obtaining the security guard license is a required condition of employment for this role.
- Protects IKEA's co-workers, customers, and assets from preventable loss, injury or illness within the unit.
- Assists the Unit Risk & Compliance Manager in various compliance tasks including assessments, follow-up, training, and statistical reports related to Ingka Group Policies and Standards, U.S. Business Risk & Compliance policies, and national/local applicable laws and regulatory requirements including but not limited to:
Global Safety & Security Manual, U.S. Retail Risk & Compliance Operations Manual, Crisis Manual, fire safety (NFPA), occupational safety (OSHA/NIOSH), food safety (Food Safety Modernization Act), PCI standards, data privacy and information security, Product Safety (CPSC), Workers' Compensation, General Liability. - Oversees the safety and security of people and property within the site/unit and supports the Unit Risk & Compliance Manager with identifying, managing, and mitigating risks in the unit, and gathering and communicating unit safety and security KPI's.
- Assists the Unit Risk & Compliance Manager in establishing and updating various business plans and action plans.
- Initiates, monitors and responds to incidents and ensures rapid response, investigation, documentation and reporting of all incidents and emergency situations.
- Documents all incidents that relate to potential liability for IKEA.
- Minimizes theft and fraud utilizing loss prevention procedures and provides support to the Unit R&C Manager and Field Safety & Security Specialist with internal investigations.
- Assists the Unit R&C Manager in leading the unit's physical security program, safety program, and compliance program by education, assessing (auditing), and maintaining standards throughout the property.
- Coordinates assessment (audit) activity on a regular basis to ensure quality assessments are conducted at the proper frequency.
- Ensures the unit's Safety Committee (Safety Forum) Meeting is held per Federal and/or State OSHA standards and IKEA U.S. standards.
- Assists the Unit R&C Manager and/or Field Safety & Security with sensitive issues including co-worker misconduct, information security, harassment, and lawsuits.

The anticipated posting closing date is on or around 8/18/25.
The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 26.17 USD to 37.39 USD and will be based on relevant work experience.
