AS Beauty is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant
, reporting to the Controller, who will be energetic, process-driven, detailed and accurate. We are seeking a creative problem solver who can take the lead but collaborate in an entrepreneurial environment and know how to juggle multiple priorities.
This person will help with monthly close, reconciliations between online platforms and our ERP system, tax compliance and filings, variance analysis, and financial analysis. The candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a group setting. This role will interface daily with internal departments, and the ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
E-commerce experience is a plus in this role, as this person will be involved in all areas of our online business including our integrated E-commerce platforms like Shopify, Tik Tok Shop, Try Now, Amazon, etc.
Responsibilities- General ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and various month-end schedule preparations.
- Participate in the development of strategies to improve accounting operations effectiveness.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions for all online business functionality, including Lead in tax reconciliations and remitting accurate tax filings in various jurisdictions, including international
- Help establish and maintain internal controls and policies to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements and establish best practices.
- Help with annual audits with our external auditors
- Must be able to think through problems, using critical thinking and detective work.
- Prepare analysis of accounts as requested and give insightful analysis when needed.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Complete other ad hoc tasks and projects as requested.
- Minimum 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred
- Knowledge of e-commerce accounting will be considered highly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- An ability to work independently
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated and enthusiastic team player who is willing to assist where necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) or similar software
- Highly proficient in Excel, including pivot tables. Ability to analyze large volumes of data from multi-data sources
- Experience with Great Plains Dynamics preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- This position is based in Superior, Colorado
