Physician Assistant – Twin Ports VA Clinic
Location: Twin Ports Outpatient Clinic, Superior, WI
Job SummaryThe Twin Ports Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking a full‑time Physician Assistant to serve over 18,000 Veterans throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. The PA will provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up for a wide range of medical conditions, and will work under the care of a collaborating physician.
PayRange
Base pay: $107,812 – $170,517 per year. Actual pay is based on skills and experience.

- Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations for primary care patients
- Document progress notes, patient summaries, and write medical orders
- Provide and coordinate medical care, including establishing diagnoses, formulating care plans, and follow‑up care
- Evaluate outpatients to determine need for further care and refer as appropriate
- Order diagnostic studies (e.g., MRI, CT scans) and other special tests
- Carry out health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education per CDC and VA guidelines
- Order or obtain laboratory specimens and ancillary services (pharmacy, social services, physical medicine, rehabilitation therapies, prosthetic services)
- Order VA specialty service consults and initiate requests for non‑VA medical care in accordance with policy
- Prescribe medications and write orders for supplies
- Provide patient and family education on preventive care and prescribed treatments
- Perform minor procedures such as suturing, simple dermatology procedures, and joint injections as per competency
- Practice is authorized on a regular, ongoing basis for patients assigned to the PA and veterans enrolled in the VA Health Care System
- Tasks performed without prior discussion with collaborating physician include all items listed in Responsibilities
- Full and unrestricted PA license; other state license acceptable with active, unrestricted status
- Board certification in Physician Assistant or equivalent clinical competence
- Minimum of one year of full‑time PA practice experience (preferred)
- Consent to receive annual CME reimbursement (up to $1,000) if applicable
