CDL Driver

• Deliver materials to job sites, inspect and maintain the truck, and report shortages and claims to the supervisor.
• Assist in loading and storing materials; operate a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, or a less experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver as applicable.
• Operate safely and participate in a positive work environment.
• Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving.
• Organize and secure loads; assist forklift operators when loading.
• Check orders for accuracy; deliver and unload materials to customers' satisfaction.
• Complete daily equipment pre-inspection; maintain cleanliness of the truck and yard/warehouse; assist in returning merchandise for credit.
• Record all merchandise that is returned by truck and assist in unloading returned material.
• Follow Department of Transportation guidelines and provide excellent customer service.
• Relay messages from customers while on the job and assist in other areas as assigned.
• Comply with all company policies and guidelines; participate in and complete assigned trainings.
• Operate a truck-mounted forklift safely and efficiently.
• Maintain good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

High School Diploma or GED required.

• CDL experience preferred.
• Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required.
• 1-3 years CDL experience required for interstate commerce.

• Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements.
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
• Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).
