Upper Primary Teacher – Male / Female

Expat Position.

Responsibilities
  • Academic Rigor: Deliver the Cambridge Primary Curriculum (English, Maths, Science) with a focus on preparing students for Primary Checkpoint exams.
  • Subject Integration: Design and implement cross‑curricular units that link core subjects with STEM and ICT, fostering critical thinking.
  • Data‑Driven Instruction: Micro‑analyse student assessment data (formative and summative) to identify learning gaps and provide targeted differentiation for high‑achievers, SEN, and EAL students.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a disciplined, stimulating learning environment suited for pre‑teens, emphasising independence and student agency.
  • Pastoral Care: Act as dedicated homeroom teacher, managing the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students during the transition to middle school.

    Collaboration:

    Lead and participate in weekly standardised planning sessions and moderation meetings to ensure consistency across the year group.
  • Parent Communication: Provide high‑level professional academic reporting and conduct regular parent‑teacher conferences to discuss student progress and targets.
  • Extracurricular Contribution: Lead at least one after‑school activity or school club to support holistic student development.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) minimum, with a primary specialisation.
  • Minimum two years teaching experience at the upper primary level.
  • Strong knowledge across core subjects:
    Maths, English, Science.
  • Ability to engage older primary students and maintain high academic standards.
  • Positive, supportive member of staff who is willing to work toward the school’s goal of being a leading institution in Oman.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong assessment and data‑tracking skills.
  • Experience with British or international curriculum.
  • Experience with EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.
  • Living in Sur, Oman, or willing to relocate. Appreciation for an outdoor, community‑based lifestyle.
