Business Controller for Ship Management
Meratus Group seeks a high‑calibre Business Controller for Ship Management to manage the financial performance of the business by providing accurate reporting, financial analysis, and strategic support in Ship Management. This position is responsible for monitoring financial outcomes, ensuring budget compliance, and supporting business leaders in data‑driven decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and ensure preparation of financial performance analysis, forecasts, and budgets on a periodical basis (monthly, quarterly, yearly).
- Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations which could affect business key financial results.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
- Control revenue and cost by checking completeness and accuracy of revenues and cost items.
- Support profitability analysis and improvement through revenue and cost optimisation strategies (GOL).
- Support operational and commercial leaders in pricing and margin analysis.
- Support process improvements in business unit financials recognition and reporting.
- Provide recommendations for cost optimisation and revenue drivers to increase business growth.
- Support business strategic development through financial/feasibility studies proposal under standardised indicators.
- Ensure and maintain deliverable of key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Enforce internal controls to prevent fraud.
- Support internal and external audits with relevant cost documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in budgeting and reporting.
- Experience in a shipping company would be an advantage.
