Biology Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our school team in Surabaya, East Java. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in shaping young minds and fostering a passion for the biological sciences. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, comprehensive biology curricula whilst creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment.

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging biology lessons aligned with the IB curriculum and school standards
• Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment that encourages student participation and scientific inquiry
• Assess student understanding through various methods including examinations, practical activities, projects and continuous evaluation
• Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain detailed records of academic progress
• Design and conduct practical laboratory experiments and field work to reinforce theoretical learning
• Collaborate with colleagues across the science department to coordinate curriculum delivery and share best practices
• Supervise students during practical activities, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching methodologies and subject knowledge

• Minimum qualification:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Biology
• Proficiency in teaching biology at secondary level
• Strong subject matter expertise with comprehensive knowledge of modern biological concepts and scientific methodology
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, interactive lessons using varied pedagogical approaches
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for lesson delivery and student assessment
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering positive student-teacher relationships
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to departmental goals
