Materials Engineer: Testing, Qualification & Collaboration

Materials (Auxiliary) Engineer will be placed in our 3rd plant, PT. Merit Technology and Innovation Indonesia - Sidoarjo.

• Support testing and evaluation of auxiliary materials including papers, filter components, adhesives, and packaging materials.
• Conduct physical, functional, and basic chemical tests in accordance with internal standards.
• Analyze test results and support investigation of material‑related issues.

• Support qualification and validation of new or alternative materials.
• Assess material change impacts on product performance and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in material change control activities, trials, and documentation.

• Work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams on material-related topics.
• Provide technical input during pilot and production trials.

• Review supplier specifications, technical documents, and certificates.
• Maintain material specifications, test methods, and engineering documentation.

• Support initiatives to improve material performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and quality systems.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Tobacco Science, Food Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields.
• 3-5 years of relevant working experience. Familiarity with industries such as tobacco, food, pharmaceuticals is preferred.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, and conversational skills).
